Andrzej Kowalski is a psychologist renowned in certain circles. He lives alone in a luxurious mansion outside Moscow and sees clients there. No one knows anything about the man’s past, and those around him consider him a legend. Kowalski loves to travel and collects antique keys from different parts of the world—he has an entire room full of them. The protagonist uses his finds in his work: he listens to the patient and selects a key depending on the situation. After such a session, the person immediately solves their problem.
Kowalski never expected that one day he himself would find himself in a difficult situation where keys could not help. His housekeeper, Anatoly, disappears without a trace. To find the man, Andrzej hires detectives Makar Ilyushin and Sergei Babkin. They come to the country house posing as ordinary clients of the psychologist and begin a secret investigation. The detectives must delve into Kowalski’s past and discover what secrets the mansion holds.
