Fifteen-year-old Polina dreams of moving to St. Petersburg to study, but her mother Alexandra is категорически against it. To dissuade her daughter, she asks Dmitry, a former KVN player, to portray a strict father and refuse to let her go. He is supposed to appear for just one day, but this chance role draws him into the Zakharovs’ lives, reveals old resentments, and changes the relationship between mother, daughter, and grandmother.
