The two-part television film "Orlinskaya: The Secret of Venus" centers on a gripping investigation led by Marina Orlinskaya, the best detective in the seaside town of Limansk, brilliantly portrayed by the incomparable Olesya Zheleznyak. The latest case begins on a quiet night shattered by a fire breaking out in the police station building. In the morning, the officers discover that the arson was merely a diversion, while the true targets of the criminals were the thieves’ common fund kept in the evidence room and—as they learn a little later—the statue of Venus of Limansk, which had become a bone of contention between its nominal owner and the sculptor’s son. The female perpetrator looked like Orlinskaya, so suspicion naturally falls on Marina, who must prove her innocence. Orlinskaya launches her own investigation, and the trail leads in two directions—to Vizier, a criminal kingpin and the former keeper of the thieves’ common fund, and to two bitter rivals who had been unable to divide the statue between them. Soon, the lifeless body of the thief is found in the gangster’s yard.
