The events of the first season of the Russian Series «The Thaw» begin in 1961 and depict the behind-the-scenes lives of filmmakers. The main character is a young and talented cinematographer, Viktor Khrustalev. One day, he was drinking with his friend, screenwriter Konstantin, when, through a ridiculous accident, Konstantin fell out of a window and died. Afterward, Viktor found his friend’s last screenplay and, considering it very interesting, decided to make a movie based on it. Soon, he met director Yegor Myachin, who supported his idea. But before they could begin bringing the screenplay to life, they had to take on another movie, work on which changed each of their lives...
