The main character of the Series is GRU Major Kirill Romanov. More than 20 years ago, his mother died in a fire, and now he receives a letter from the alleged culprit behind that tragedy. The new circumstances make the death of his parent less straightforward for Kirill, so he leaves the service and travels to Siberia, where his mother died. The tragedy occurred at a spot where they were planning to establish a base for an oil company. Kirill gets a job at this enterprise and soon realizes that shady dealings are taking place there. He also meets a girl named Dasha, whose relatives died in a similar way to Kirill’s mother.
