The main character, Olesya, is passionately devoted to archaeology, just as her late parents once were. A determined young woman, she is pursuing postgraduate studies and dreams of dedicating her life to science. However, love changes her plans. After meeting Stas, she agrees to leave her beloved work behind to devote herself to her family.
But shortly before the wedding, it turns out that her future husband’s parents will be unable to attend the celebration. Olesya then suggests that they travel themselves to Stas’s hometown—the Cossack village of Kovylevka. Soon, the young scholar learns that this is precisely where a priceless archaeological site is located: an ancient Scythian burial mound. But it is in serious danger: Grigory, a local horse breeder, plans to build yet another stable in its spot. Will the determined Olesya be able to protect this historical monument?
