The two-part comedy detective story "School for Chubby Girls" ironically tells the story of three full-figured friends. Housewife Ksenia married unsuccessfully, lost her daughter, her husband turned out to be a womanizer, and she herself has grown accustomed to her unenviable fate and completely lost her taste for life. She has only two constant pleasures left: eating heartily and drinking even more heavily. Thus, year after year flies by without the slightest prospect of change. Talented biologist Irina resembles Ksenia in nothing but her ample figure; she is young and promising, valued at work, yet consistently ignored by the man she loves. Unlike her friends, enthusiastic cook Polina is happy with her life. So happy that she does not even notice that her husband is sleeping with her own sister, who cannot cook at all but is slim and graceful. Fate itself seems to push the three chubby women to join forces and deal with their accumulated problems. At just this time, Ksenia’s husband dies under unclear circumstances. The friends become embroiled in criminal showdowns, forcing the women to temporarily stop feeling self-conscious about their figures and begin fighting for survival.
