Leningrad, 1970. At the height of summer, a horrific incident takes place in the city: three people burn alive in the courtyard of a research institute in front of numerous witnesses. The investigation into this mysterious and terrifying case is assigned to the experienced Major Vladimir Chubin. Lieutenant Yegor Fyodorov is sent from the capital to assist him—the only person Chubin will be able to trust in this difficult situation. The detectives must find out whether these deaths are the work of followers of the ancient cult of Chernobog, or whether they are facing something even more terrifying and inexplicable.
