The Series’ protagonist, intelligence officer Andrey Makarov, is one of the best in his field. After a tragic accident in childhood, he nearly lost his hearing, but he mastered lip-reading and is able to speak Arabic fluently. These skills made him an invaluable operative in various special operations.
Having been assigned to go to the Middle East, Makarov discovers that the fanatical field commander Abu Jalid is planning to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in Russia using female suicide bombers. To prevent this, the command transfers Andrey to the North Caucasus, where, together with experienced sniper Alexey Bodrov, he must thwart the terrorists’ plans. At the same time, the two partners must learn to work together.
