The heroes of the detective Series "The Dark Side of the Soul," private detectives Makar Ilyushin and Sergei Babkin, decide to take a long-awaited vacation. After a long search for a suitable spot to relax, the friends settle on a country boarding house. The detectives head there firmly convinced that, at least surrounded by nature, they will be able to catch their breath from tracking down criminals and solving mysteries, but that is not the case. By a cruel twist of fate, it is precisely at this beautiful boarding house that a series of mysterious events takes place, culminating in the death of a young woman, carried out in a manner resembling some kind of medieval ritual. The atmosphere of mysticism is enhanced by the fact that the boarding house itself is an old mansion that has known many generations of previous owners. Some of the house’s inhabitants are convinced that a ghost walks its halls at night, and, as is customary, no good can be expected from such spirits. Meanwhile, a new maniac appears in Moscow, having appointed himself to the role of the devil’s viceroy. Ilyushin and Babkin resign themselves to the fact that peace is only a dream for them, even on vacation, and set about their usual work.
