The Russian melodramatic Series "Instead of Her" tells the story of the friendship between two provincial girls, Irina and Anastasia. The friends had been inseparable since childhood, essentially growing up like sisters, but the fact that the harmony in their relationship was illusory became obvious after Nastya’s parents died tragically. Out of pity, Ira’s father and mother decide to take the girl they have known for a long time into their family and raise her as their own daughter. Thus, the friends continue growing up under the same roof. Over time, the resentments between Ira and Nastya grow and multiply: there is no longer enough parental love for both of them; to make matters worse, the girls manage to fall in love with the same guy, and, to top off all the conflicts, only Nastya successfully passes the entrance exams to college. Ira’s patience runs out; she begins to hate her once-beloved friend and devises a plan for revenge, hoping to get even with fate. And no one, not even her parents, can imagine what the quiet and obedient girl is capable of in order to feel that she alone is loved and needed.
