The plot of the first season of the Series centers on a woman named Lika, who is used to living by the rules set by her wealthy father and domineering husband. She has always believed that her men know better how to act in any given situation, and her daughter Zhenya’s success in chess was proof of this. Zhenya was raised by her father, while her mother had more influence over her son Volodya, who turned into a good-for-nothing. But one day, a tragedy occurred that forced Lika to reconsider her views. Her son Volodya came to be regarded as a suspect in the murder of his own grandfather.
