The first season of the Russian detective mini-Series «The Turkish Gambit», which can be watched online in our internet cinema with free access, consists of four episodes and is an adaptation of Boris Akunin’s book of the same name. The mini-Series takes place in 1877 during the Russo-Turkish War. Erast Fandorin takes part in the war as a Serbian volunteer. He is tasked with delivering an important message to the headquarters of the Russian command. On the way, he meets a charming young lady, Varvara Andreyevna Suvorova, who is heading to the Russian troops’ location to see her fiancé Petya Yablokov, a cipher clerk at the General Staff. After delivering the message, Petya sends an encrypted message, while Fandorin is assigned to find Anvar, the secretary of Sultan Abdul Hamid, who is currently acting as a spy. Soon, Petya is arrested because the message he composed was distorted. Varvara asks Fandorin to find evidence of her fiancé’s innocence. Fandorin agrees, as he realizes that it was Anvar who distorted the message. This means that Petya can only be saved by exposing Anvar.
