«Eternal Call» is an attempt to bring Anatoly Ivanov’s famous novel of the same name to the screen. The story presented in this grand television epic spans a period of Russian history lasting more than half a century. The narrative opens at the beginning of the twentieth century and concludes in the Soviet Union during Khrushchev’s rule. At the center of the plot is the Savelyev family, ordinary Russian people from a remote village in the Far North. Although the television series covers the history of the entire family, the creators of the movie focus on the fate of three brothers: Anton, Fyodor, and Ivan. They had to grow up and gain experience in turbulent times, when the country was torn apart by wars, revolution, and changes in the state system. We are to learn about the major historical events through the eyes of the Savelyev brothers, go through three wars, and plunge headlong into all the dramatic twists and turns of the twentieth century.
