Olga Barkovskaya, a university lecturer, is invited to the presentation of a new project by mathematician Pyotr Borisov, her colleague. However, the event turns into a tragedy: the scientist is found dead. The investigation is assigned to Svetlana Kartashova, who discovers a strange detail—shortly before his death, Borisov used numerology to calculate the date of his own demise. Kartashova once again asks Barkovskaya for help as a specialist capable of understanding the deceased man's complex calculations. Olga must enter a world of mysterious numerical patterns, where every formula may prove to be a clue. But the deeper she digs, the more questions arise: did Borisov really fall victim to his own prophecy, or did someone use his calculations to commit a carefully planned crime?
