At the center of the plot of the second season of the cult Series "Bandit Petersburg" is the story of two university friends, Sergei Chelishchev and Oleg Zvantsov, who were both in love with the same girl, Katya. Her sudden wedding came as a shock to the young men: Oleg dropped out of university and joined the army, while Sergei became a prosecutor. Another promotion is overshadowed by terrible news: Chelishchev’s parents are murdered. Soon, a young gangster who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time is arrested in connection with the case. At the urging of his senior "colleagues," the young man takes the blame and dies during an investigative experiment. The city prosecutor sends the case to the archives—to Chelishchev’s indignation, as he is convinced that the youth did not kill anyone. After resigning from the prosecutor’s office, Sergei begins his own investigation. By chance, he learns that his old friend Oleg did not die in Afghanistan but returned to St. Petersburg and became the leader of one of the gangs. Sergei agrees to help his comrade, who has been imprisoned, and joins the criminal underworld, hoping to get closer to solving the mystery of his parents’ terrible death.
