The plot of the Russian melodramatic Series "Foreign Blood" unfolds in the 1970s and focuses on the personal drama of Zina, a village girl. She has the misfortune of catching the eye of Boris, an official who is not deterred by the fact that Zina has a fiancé—a Gypsy man named Oleko—and does everything in his power to win someone else’s bride. The party functionary fabricates charges of horse theft against his rival and sends him to prison, forcing Zina to make a difficult choice: either she gives up Oleko, or he receives a prison sentence. From that moment on, the girl’s troubles only multiply. She decides to sacrifice her personal happiness for the sake of her loved one, but gives birth to a stillborn child. Fate gives her the opportunity to start over with a musician named Lyova, while Boris meets Vilora, a high-ranking female official who promises him great career prospects in exchange for personal happiness. Meanwhile, events become increasingly complicated. Another tragedy occurs, as a result of which Zina ends up with someone else’s child in her arms.
