Sonya and her husband Yakov live in a small Moscow apartment and try to make their son Denis study. Gleb works at the same organization as Yakov and is married to Raisa, Sonya’s biological sister. Gleb and Raisa are also raising an eighteen-year-old child, a girl named Marina. When the time comes for university entrance exams, the families decide to exchange children: Marina comes to Moscow to apply for university, while Denis goes to Samara into Gleb’s care, where a job awaits him.
