The brave police officer Vadim Datsky was presumed dead for a full two years. The evidence was plain to see: the investigation obtained a video recording showing him being cold-bloodedly tortured, and, most importantly, the criminal had been detained — Kuzmin, a professional hitman. Even Vadim’s loving wife, investigator Darya, came to terms with the loss. She tries to start a new life with Datsky’s old friend, her colleague Sergey. But one late evening, a strange call rings out in her home: «Do you want to know where your husband is?» Most surprisingly, it is Kuzmin calling — a man sitting in prison, who cannot possibly have a phone, yet has an ironclad alibi… Following his instructions, Darya finds Vadim exhausted but alive. When he regains consciousness in the hospital, he cannot even remember how long he spent in captivity. But the respite will be short-lived: Vadim and Darya must uncover the mystery of the kidnapping, expose the real criminals, and protect their family.
