Grief-stricken Evgeny tries to pull himself together. After his wife’s death in a road accident, he is left alone with two sons. The children become the hero’s only incentive to hold on to life. The hero continues to believe that justice will prevail sooner or later. And although the police cannot find the culprit, Zhenya decides to do it himself. Meanwhile, a stranger named Nina arrives in the village where Evgeny lives with his sons. The kind-hearted woman tries to help the family that has lost its mother in every way she can. However, no one suspects that it is her husband Ivan who is responsible for that very accident. Ivan made Nina keep everything secret, but unable to bear the emotional torment, she leaves him and sets out to atone for her guilt. However, it soon turns out that Evgeny is not the only one in this village who needs help.
