In the fourth season of the popular Series about charming cops, “Deadly Force,” Igor Plakhov returns to his home department after a brief stint at headquarters. The detectives move into a new basement premises, while Shishkin is promoted to lieutenant colonel and, in his joy, shaves off his mustache. New thrilling cases await our heroes, and each new crime, in keeping with tradition, combines dramatic and comedic elements. Thus, the detectives investigate what appears to be an ordinary traffic accident that was never officially reported to the traffic police and serves merely as a cover for a racketeering operation carried out by gangsters. The “victim” turns to his military brother for help, and together they prepare to fight back against the extortionists, but this amateur effort ends in tragedy. The main plot revolves around the murder of a customs officer on the day of an inspection of a cargo ship in the port. Taking on the investigation, the detectives discover that certain powerful forces are by no means interested in establishing the truth, and since the honest cops fail to understand the obvious hints, an attempt is made on Shishkin’s life.
