The events of the Series begin in 1924, when the Dvorkin family is forced to leave the country, where the Soviet regime has taken hold for a long time. However, their daughter Rosa decides to remain in the country with her fiancé, Dmitry Mirsky. Despite their considerable age difference, Dmitry and Rosa love each other and have no intention of parting. This is a terrible blow for the Dvorkins, but they are no longer able to change the circumstances. Rosa and Dmitry begin their family life in a large house on Trekhpudovy Lane, where their first child is born. They are happy and enjoy every new day of family life. A great many people will enter the open doors of their hospitable home. And not all of them will bring the hosts joy and happiness.
