At the center of the plot of the two-part detective movie «Catch Me» is an ordinary literature teacher, Tatiana Ivashchenko. One day, her father, who served on the Investigative Committee, dies. While sorting through his belongings, the heroine finds what at first glance appears to be an amateur story resembling Leo Tolstoy’s «The Kreutzer Sonata.» Tatiana realizes that this text is somehow connected to a case her father never managed to close. When she brings this theory to her father’s former colleagues, Tatiana is met with ridicule and receives no help.
